The Digital Citizenship and Innovation Program examines how technology and civic participation are shaping Mexico’s digital transformation. We produce rigorous evidence on people’s rights and civic engagement, as well as on the public policies that foster knowledge generation and more efficient public services. Digital transformation only drives development when it empowers citizens, opens markets, and promotes innovation.

An informed citizenry is better equipped to exercise its rights, hold governments accountable through evidence, and make informed decisions. Citizenship goes beyond legal status; it also reflects a sense of belonging to a community and the fulfillment of civic responsibilities.
